  The 3 treadmills in the fitness center are currently down for inspection and repairs.  A technician will be out next week to analyze and make repairs as needed.  Until then, please refrain from using the treadmills.  Please remember to wipe down all fitness center items you use to promote hygiene and extend the lifespan of our equipment.

Women’s Self-Defense Clinic

I am excited to announce a Self-Defense clinic geared for women of all ages.  Program is designed to increase awareness, confidence, and self-defense effectiveness, and reduce the risk of becoming a victim.  There will be both discussion and physical practice of techniques to defend against a wide range of attacks and scenarios.  This clinic is limited to female BridgeHampton residents ages 13 and up, this is a great mother-daughter event.

The clinic will be taught by:

  • Douglas W. Hall
    • 3rd Degree Black Belt from International Jun Tong Tae Kwon Do Federation
    • 2nd Degree Black Belt from American Unified Martial Arts Association
    • 1st Degree Black Belt from World Tae Kwon Do Federation
    • 1st Degree Black Belt in Shotokan style Karate
    • Holds ranks in Jujitsu , Chi Lin Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Bagua
    • Certified Instructor from all listed affiliations
    • Certified Self-Defense and Women’s Self Defense Instructor
      • Jun Tong Tae Kwon Do Federation
      • American Unified Martial Arts Association

Date: Saturday, 27 October 2018

Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm

Location: BridgeHampton Clubhouse

Cost: FREE

Dress:  Comfortable active wear.  This is not designed as a workout, but you will be moving around and having fun.  Please wear tennis shoes or similar (no high heels, flip-flops, or open toes).

 

You’ll leave this class with a sense of accomplishment, a feeling of empowerment, and confidence that you are better equipped to defend yourself.  I’ve been teaching classes for a few decades, there are always fun moments and lots of learning.  I’m excited to share my knowledge with you.

Here is your chance to be Fit for Life this summer! Join other teens and friends as we stay engaged in fitness and being healthy through exercising, playing PE games, crazy competitions, team building activities, character building exercises, and giving back to the community through a service project!

Beth Pannenberg is an American Red Cross certified CPR and fitness instructor at the Morrison YMCA.  She also trains employees at the YMCA about child abuse prevention and recognition.  Beth’s teaching career spans 34 years and she currently teaches the acclaimed “Fit for Life” curriculum at Community House Middle School. She also teaches fitness classes at the Morrison YMCA.

Clubhouse & Fitness Center Painting

Homeowners,

As many of you are aware our clubhouse has been undergoing some much needed maintenance over the last few weeks. We are finishing up on the exterior and have just started the painting on the interior. As part of this project, the interior of the fitness center will be painted, and will be closed beginning 8:30 a.m. Thursday December 28th through Friday December 29th. Thank you for your cooperation during this time and we will post notification as soon as it is reopened.
